Preparation before pressure.

Work directly with Brad Broadway on a considered beginning for your horse. The starting point is your horse’s handling history, physical readiness and the work required, rather than an assumption that every young horse follows the same timetable.

Education can include handling, groundwork, accepting tack and progressive ridden foundations as appropriate. Rest and workload are adjusted to readiness. Five education sessions do not necessarily mean five ridden sessions.

We agree goals, review progress weekly and discuss extra time before extending. A young horse still needs continued education after returning home.

THE WHOLE COMMITMENT

Know the likely total.

At $450 per week, allow $2,700 for six weeks or $3,600 for eight weeks, before agreed extras. Extra time is discussed before extending the booking.

This is a planning range, not a promise that every horse will be ready to go home in eight weeks. Your written quote confirms inclusions, location, any applicable tax and the total payable before you commit.

THE RIGHT MATCH

Size is only part of the picture.

Please include your horse’s height in hands, build, age, handling history and your goals when enquiring. Suitability also depends on health, behaviour, a suitable rider, tack, facilities and the work required.

Small ponies require a suitable rider for backing. Larger horses may need a different feed allowance. Height alone does not set the training fee, smaller ponies are not automatically cheaper to educate, and acceptance is never automatic.

If your horse has already been started and is returning to work, training and restarting may be the more useful starting point for the conversation.
