THE BROADWAY APPROACH
Work directly with Brad Broadway.
Every horse and rider arrives with a different story. Broadway Performance Horses brings the focus back to the foundations: understanding, consistent handling and achievable steps.
Work with Brad Broadway on the skills that matter to you, from becoming comfortable around horses to helping your horse build on its education. The next step should make sense for both of you.
How we begin ↗We begin with your experience, your horse’s history and what you want to achieve, then discuss a suitable next step.

THE HORSE COMES FIRST
Good education leaves room to listen. We look for understanding, not just a completed task, and take the time to revisit a step when a horse or rider needs it.
Progress can be a quiet halt, a more settled approach or the first moment something clicks. Those small changes are worth noticing.
CLEAR EXPECTATIONS
Indicative prices in Australian dollars. Enquire to confirm suitability, availability and your total price before booking.
INDIVIDUAL LESSON
45 minutes of individual tuition, with an additional 15 minutes allowed for preparation.
TRAINING & RESTARTING
An assessed return-to-work or further-education program. Duration agreed after discussing history, fitness and goals.
STARTING UNDER SADDLE
Six-week initial booking. Plan for six to eight weeks, with progress reviewed weekly. More time may be needed; completion is never guaranteed by a date.
*Standard hay ration is agreed for each horse before quoting. Owner supplies suitable hard feed and supplements. Additional feed/hay, veterinary care, farrier, dentistry and transport are excluded and agreed separately. Your written quote confirms inclusions, location, any applicable tax and the total payable before you commit. Existing client arrangements remain unchanged.
THE WHOLE COMMITMENT
At $450 per week, allow $2,700 for six weeks or $3,600 for eight weeks, before agreed extras. Extra time is discussed before extending the booking.
This is a planning range, not a promise that every horse will be ready to go home in eight weeks.
THE RIGHT MATCH
Tell us your horse’s height in hands, build, age, health and handling history. Acceptance depends on a suitable rider, tack, facilities and the work required.
Small ponies require a suitable rider for backing. Larger horses may need a different feed allowance. Height alone does not set the training fee, and acceptance is never automatic.
A THOUGHTFUL FIRST STEP
You don’t need all the answers before we talk.
Your experience, what you hope to achieve, and anything your horse finds difficult.
Discuss suitability, timing, location and costs. You’ll know what is included before deciding.
Start with clear expectations, review progress and build a practical plan to carry forward.
LIFE WITH HORSES

BEFORE YOUR VISIT
Preparation helps us give our attention to you and your horse. All visits are by prior arrangement.
Download the existing riding & handling waiver ↗Word document. Ask Brad to confirm the current agreement before your visit.
A correctly fitted, fastened equestrian helmet, suitable riding boots with a defined heel and comfortable riding clothing. A body protector is strongly recommended, particularly for children and inexperienced riders.
Tell us about your experience when enquiring. The activity and horse must be suitable for the rider. Ground-based learning may be the right starting point; riding is not automatically guaranteed.
Age, handling and ridden history, time out of work, health considerations and your goals. Be open about behaviours that could affect handling or training so we can assess the right next step.
We confirm the activity, location, equipment and participant information. The riding and handling agreement must be completed, with parent or guardian consent for anyone under 18. Horse activities carry inherent risks; no horse or activity is completely safe.
Horse welfare, ground conditions and weather can affect sessions. A written cancellation and rescheduling policy will be supplied before you book.
Allow a six-week initial booking, with six to eight weeks allowed for planning. Progress depends on the individual horse. We agree goals, review weekly and discuss extra time before extending. A young horse still needs continued education after returning home.
No automatic acceptance by height or breed. Horse and rider size, physical readiness, tack, facilities and behaviour must be a suitable match. Please include height in hands and build in your enquiry. Smaller ponies are not automatically cheaper to educate.
YOUR NEXT CHAPTER
For riders and horse owners across Woodend, Kyneton and the Macedon Ranges.
Brad will discuss suitability, availability, location and the full price with you before a booking is agreed.
